LifeCycles is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating awareness and initiating action around food, health, and urban sustainability in the Greater Victoria community.

Mustard Seed

The Mustard Seed operates the largest food bank on Vancouver Island.

Our Place Society

Our Place Society serves 3 warm, nourishing meals per day, 5 days per week, and a total of 38,000 meals a month in Victoria.

Greater Vancouver Foodbank Society

The GVFBS collects and distributes food to over 25‚000 people weekly through 15 food depots and over 100 community agencies located in Vancouver‚ Burnaby‚ New Westminster and the North Shore.


Food Banks Canada

In addition to distributing food stock to food banks across Canada, Food Banks Canada also spearheads campaigns for hunger awareness, conducts hunger and poverty policy analysis, and supports nutrition and food-access programs to reduce the long-term need for food bank services in Canada.

Breakfast for Learning

With an emphasis on the nutritional requirements of satisfying hunger by targeting child nutrition in schools, this national non-profit provides grants, educational resources, and research to school communities to “nurture strong minds and provide students with the best chance of success possible.”

The Canadian Legacy Project, Veterans Food Bank

The Canadian Legacy Project is designed to support veterans and develop programs including the Annual Veterans Food Drive and Food Bank, as well as events to help improve their everyday lives.

Feeding America

Their mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage the country in the fight to end hunger.


Grassroots International

Grassroots International supports community organizations and movements around the world that are struggling to secure access to food and the water and land needed to sustain small farm production.

Groundswell International

Groundswell International supports grassroots programs and food sovereignty to strengthen rural communities by focusing on building sustainable, healthy family farming and food systems from the ground up.
